Larkspur - QIS White
Larkspur - QIS White
One of my favorite flowers to put in bouquets, Larkspur is a staple in my garden. These tall, spire-like flowers are the perfect addition to bouquets or as a backdrop in cottage garden beds, and are extremely versatile, as they can be used both fresh and dried. A favorite of the pollinators too!
Planting: Pre-chill your seeds for 7-14 days prior to planting. Seeds require darkness for germination. Germination takes 14-21 days at 50-55 degrees. Seeds can be started in the fall for spring blooms or in late winter for summer blooms. Direct sow in the soil at 1/4 inch deep or you can start your seeds indoors 6 weeks before planting outside. 80-90 days to maturity for flowers.
Harvesting: It is best to harvest during the coolest time of the day. Stems are ready to be cut when about half of the blooms are open on each stem.
