A Season of Growth

A Season of Growth

A Season of Growth: Seeds, Dahlias, and a book on the way!

There’s something about this time of year that’s equal parts thrilling and chaotic—and we wouldn’t have it any other way! As winter lingers, we’re already looking ahead to the blooms of spring and summer, pouring our hearts into every seed, tuber, and page. Here’s a little peek behind the scenes at what’s happening on the farm!

Shipping Seeds Far and Wide

This has been our biggest seed sale ever, and we’ve been working around the clock to get every order packed and shipped as quickly as possible. It’s been incredible to see these little packets of potential heading to gardens all across the country. There’s something so special about knowing that these tiny seeds will soon be climbing trellises, filling garden beds, and bringing joy to flower lovers everywhere.

Dahlia Tuber Prep: A March Sale on the Horizon

While seeds fly out the door, we’re elbow-deep in dahlia tubers, dividing and sorting to get everything ready for our March dahlia sale. With the release of Sweet Pea School coming up in just two weeks (!!!), it’s been a busy time—but seeing the tubers looking this healthy and vibrant makes it all worth it. Our Farmhouse Flower Farm varieties are truly shining this year, and we can’t wait to introduce some new beauties to your gardens!

The Book—Almost Here!

It’s hard to believe that Sweet Pea School will be in your hands in just two weeks! If you preordered, it’ll be heading your way soon—thank you for your support and enthusiasm! And if you haven’t checked out the preorder bonus yet, take a look at our last blog post for all the details.

Of course, with a book release comes so much prep—finalizing details for the launch party, sending out influencer boxes, and making sure everything is in place for the big day. And amidst it all, we’ve already started planting our 40,000 sweet pea plants for the season, including an entire hoop house full of King’s Ransom—one of our absolute favorites.

February Garden To-Dos

Even with winter’s chill, there’s still plenty to do in the garden! Here’s what’s on our February checklist:

Start sweet pea seeds —around Valentines Day is a good time to start thinking about starting your sweet pea! Before you sow, make sure to check your zone to confirm a good start date.
Check on overwintered dahlias—make sure they’re staying dry and cool.
Begin hardy annual transplants—get those ranunculus and anemones in the ground if conditions allow.
Prep garden beds—add compost, clear debris, and get ahead before the busy spring season.
Prune roses—it’s time to shape them up before new growth takes off!
Deadhead and tidy perennials—give last year’s growth a trim to make way for new blooms.

It may still feel like winter, but spring is right around the corner!

Something BIG is Coming…

And finally, we have some incredibly exciting news—something that’s going to take Farmhouse Flower Farm to a whole new level! We can’t say the details just yet, but trust us, this is huge. Stay tuned because we’ll be sharing soon, and we cannot wait for you to be part of it.

Until then, happy planting, and thank you for being here—we couldn’t do this without you!

With love and flowers,
Marryn
